    MVP Race

For an award as subjective as most valuable player, sometimes you need to rely less on statistical analysis and more on visceral feelings.

The numbers say LeBron James should be the NBA's MVP. The standard definition of the best player on the best team leads you to Kevin Garnett. But there are times when the MVP award is captured in a moment. And no one does moments like Kobe Bryant.

Since Dirk got the MVP last year, I believe that KG would probably win it, with the bst player on the best team argument.

Another comment I have is that I don't know why people are saying Kobe is the MVP. Look at the job that Lebron and CP3 has done; take a lottery team to an instant title contender. Kobe hasn't done that BY HIMSELF (especially with his whining and trade demands 9 months ago) and if it weren't for the arrival of Gasol and growth of Bynum and the bench, the Lakers would be out of the playoff picture.

i'll go with kobe, though i think some of the lakers success has to do with bynum becoming a bigger producer, and getting gasol. but he's still their leader.

chris paul probably second, great numbers and makking the hornets a bigger contender.

I think LeBron will edge out KG for the MVP award.

However, I think Amare Stoudemire should at least be considered an MVP candidate. He has played like an MVP, since Shawn Marion was traded.

Amare Stoudemire is averaging 28.8 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 2.1 bpg since 2/6/08 (First game without Shawn Marion). The Suns are on a 7 game winning streak after tonight's win against Houston. If the Suns and Amare finish the season strong, I think Amare should be talked about alot more in the MVP race .
