08 Topps DPP?

Is Topps DPP going to get replaced with Topps Rookie Progression? It says it comes with 2 autos and 2 relics per box, but its around $80. I like DPP because it's cheap and easy to complete the set. I really hope they keep DPP.

I guess $80 for 20 packs with 2 autos, 2 jerseys and 10 numbered cards isn't bad though.

I liked the paralellels in the DPP. Does the Progression have those in it?

That's pretty decent. But with another child on the way, I might be looking at Press Pass instead.

I am probably going to buy a box of the Progression, but it is sad that the low end brands are being phased out, somewhat. However, everyone wants autos and jerseys and I imagine Topps needed to do something to provide better autos/jersey cards to compete.

I agree it is sad. I don't know why everyone wants jerseys though. They quickly lost their appeal to me. There are so many of them. Sign me up for a good quality or numbered RC any day over the GU cards - especially the no patch, no number, single color swatch.

The name "Progression" is a funny choice though. Does that have to do with the players, the cards or the industry? I might call it "depression".

I'm in "regression" - going back to RCs and sets. I want to share the hobby with my 2 boys. But that's hard to do when we can only afford one pack of cards at a time!

I wish they weren't cutting so many of the low end products. I don't think the $45 price increase can justify if they are all single color non #ed GUs. Please don't tell me they stopped making Bowman Chrome.
