    How unethical is this?

Personally I just think this is in terrible taste.

Didn't say it was illegal guy - said it was unethical and it is. And the beer example is a terrible analogy. Of course beer companies surround their product with women and other things to entice. But at no point do you have to read a disclaimer to see that the women don't come with it.

It's more like someone advertising a Corvette with a pic for $1000 but when you read the fine print it says "Chevette".

You really think that they did this just to attract attention and in no way hope that someone will see the card and $3 and jump to buy it?

    C'mon!

I agree with my man Chajones in that it is unethical and I personally think Ebay should not allow this. The picture should have to match the item. Even if this was the case you could still get around it by scanning 4 pictures together and include Peterson in the collage. With that said the moral to this story is always read everything before you buy anything on Ebay or elsewhere. Making an informed decision is always best.

Yeah I agree with ya cha...definitely not the most unethical thing I've seen on the 'bay, but very bad taste and an extremely lame effort to rip someone off. If he can get a pic of a Peterson, he can get a pic of a Bush...or anyone else that's not the biggest player of the year. Sad what people will try to pull for a measley $3.

Yea, as we all know, there are a lot of misleading things on Ebay. I had to call a person out the other day because all his auctions said, "This pack feels THICK! It probably has a GU jersey in it or an Auto!"

All of his listings said that and I wondered if that was true. What is his opinion of "thick," compared to those of us who know what feels like it has something in it or not? It's so easy for someone to get it and nothing be in there and the seller will be like, "Well, it felt think to me."

    Haha.

Plus, you as the misleading-seller are only causing more potential problems in the future for yourself because that buyer possibly might be pissed that they were confused or mislead.

    Here's my take (FWIW) ....

Most people that find their way to that auction will have done a specific search for Michael Bush. I say "most" people. In that regard I don't have a huge problem with the pic that was used...however, a red flag for me would be that the actual card was not scanned. That would speak to the condition of the actual Bush refractor itself, IMO.

If the title included Peterson or in any way made it seem like the AP was what you were getting I'd have a HUGE issue with this.

Now...I was ablet to get Blue AND Green Bush refractor RCs for a total of $1.99 so this auction is a ripoff anyway

yea ebay is full of jerks like that...i once almost bought a paintball gun from there...the guy was selling a gun that normally selld for $1,200 and he had a buy it now for $500 after hitting the buy it now option i then reviewed everything before finalizing the deal and noticed he was asking $600 s&h...needless to say i didn't buy it but i seen where someone else did, dont know if he actually paid that much or just took the hit on his feedback after getting the invoice...
