You can always grab AU/GU on one card. I am collecting a AU/GU/RC of all the Super Bowl MVP's. Just depends on how you feel about your collections and what you plan to do I guess. i myself am planning on plaqing my crads and making a wall dedicated to the MVP's

What makes you happy? An auto and GU of your teams? I collect GU's of my team but only multi-colored ones. That is an option.

I have to agree with dan243 on this. I used to collect G/U, but there have been negative reports about these cards. I remember having a $100 Terry Bradshaw Leaf Certified jersey /12. The swatch was a lighter gold than the jersey depicted on the back of the card. It was supposed to have been cut from that jersey on the back of the card! This is why I collect auto's.

That's the key - what makes you happy! So many things to collect! Or you could do a few small collections like GU of HOFers and Autos of a certain, position player or team.

My collection is: Autos of RBs, RCs of certain players and a few parallel sets.

I don't do GU anymore. But I imagine that the time will come soon when all cards will have UPCs and the websites have databases so that you can punch in the card and see what it looks like - at least for high end, low numbered and multi-colored things.

    Would be nice anyway.
