Redskins big offer for Chad Johnson declined!
How serious are the Cincinnati Bengals about not giving in to Chad Johnson's trade demands?
Serious enough to swat away an offer from the Washington Redskins that could have netted the Bengals two first-round draft picks, team and league sources said.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, who initially denied the team had received offers for Johnson during a Tuesday news conference, confirmed to ESPN that Cincinnati turned down Washington's offer of two picks.

Bengals need to do something with him, that's for sure. At his point he's just a negative factor in the locker room.
I can't imagine they don't plan on moving him at some point. My guess is they're just waiting for the right offer to come around, although this one sounded pretty good to me.

I saw it mentioned on ESPN when I was at work that the Bengals also contacted the Eagles and Cowboys and told them that Johnson will not be traded..Thanks Ed
I only trade by Beckett price guide, not eBay comp or SV, TV..I also do not collect any Panini or Donruss Baseball products..

This is why the Bengals are commonly referred to as the Bungles. Turning down a reasonable trade for a guy who has flat-out said that he will not play in Cincy again is just stupid.

This trade would have put him in the NFC too! Trading johnson would leave them thin at WR, but I'm sure there are free agents out there. Use one of your new picks on a WR! I'm still puzzled how they could reject such a great deal (bad deal for the Redskins).

redskins tried to talk to the cards about a boldin and were told he is staying put as well. i agree sending chad to the nfc is as far awya as you can get him. i can't imagine anyone offer more for the head case he is than the skins did.
he is TO without as good of numbers

He says he isn't playing for the Bengals period, so either way they are looking at being without him. With Chris Henry probably looking at a lifetime suspension and T.J. saying he won't be in camp until he gets a contract extension, the Bengals appear to be headed for an even worse season than last year.
Worst case scenario they could trade away CJ and then use some picks to trade for another WR that is young and stuck behind veterans on the depth chart but could make an impact, or a veteran that his team might be willing to part with.
For the right picks they could probably pick up Roy Williams or Lee Evans. For a lot cheaper they could get Michael Clayton, Michael Jenkins, Donald Lee, Greg Jennings, Reggie Brown.....I could go on.
It just seems so stupid to insist on holding on to a guy who has been so adamant that he doesn't want to be a part of your team.
