1968 AMC Javelin, my dad bought it for me when I was 14 (only 16-almost 17 now), restored it. In that time gas prices soared and since it got 8 mpg, we tried to get rid of it. Eventually did, traded it for a 1995 Ford Mustang and a 1964 Dodge Dart GT to my uncle.

Fun topic!
My first car was a '73 Chevy Vega hatchback, school bus yellow with black racing stripes. Bought it for salvage value in '75 and rebuilt it with my brother in less then a month. Was totaled exactly 1 week after I got my license (got rear ended while sitting still in traffic) spent a month in the hospital with a broken neck and then 3 months at home recupping afterwards. During that time, my brother rebuilt the car again and this time ALL of the racing stripes got put on the car AND my brother added 2 more brake lights in the tailights, lol. Was back on the road again and in early '76 it was totaled again!!! NOT my fault... a guy was being chased by the police and he hit me broadside in the intersection. I gave up on the car and sold it to a neighbor that turned it into a race car. He won a few races with it before it got wrecked again and it finally headed to the scrap yard.
Amazing life for that Vega... lol It really was a cool little car in it's time!!!

I'd rather have the '64 1/2 Mustang mainly because it was one of the first to roll off the production line, thus the half year notation as the 1965 was the first year the Mustang in full production...
But I am a fan of the GTO as well as the Oldsmobile 4-4-2...

My Dad's GTO is a coupe. There were only 800 made in 66. He actually raced his first one in '66 and '67. He sold it in '72. He claimed he sold it because he couldn't stand to see my car seat dent the leather.....can you say scared for life? lol
