Stewart Variation......I personally watched 2 Of the Black on the right come out of the same box. In fact most of the people who are selling the driver lots of Stealth, show the Stewart regular as the black on the right. I know that the #ed have the black on the right so therefore the Variation SHOULD be the Black on the left.

#17 Kasey Kahne...No KK logo on his chest. (Thanks to ajwest92 for pointing this one out.)

You are correct, black on left is the variation

I got all eight of them--along with two extras--in my first box of Stealth.

Another great swing and a miss from stealth this year...If it wasn't for my Hamlin DB, my boxes would've stunk.

It looks like there is a total of 9 variations in the 2008 Stealth. I currently know of 8 so far, still need to figure out one. They will all be listed in a Beckett article in the coming week or so. Here is what I have so far:

    2008 Stealth (9 cards):
#11 Jeff Gordon - Tires in back ground red border
#11a Jeff Gordon - Tires in back ground blue border

#17 Kasey Kahne - Missing KK logo from firesuit.
#63 Jimmie Johnson - Front tire changer missing
#69 RCR – Kevin Harvick in middle slot
#81 Tony Stewart - Black/orange reversed on bottom border (black is on the right)

#81a Tony Stewart – Don’t know this one yet?!?!?!?!?!
#83 Dale Earnhardt Jr - Green on sides of card, no Sprint Cup trophy on upper right of card

#83a Dale Earnhardt Jr - Blue on sides of card, no Sprint Cup trophy on upper right of card

Here you go on the Stewart variations...

The top left is my platinum parallel. While the scan doesn't show it real good, they are three "squiggles on the orange portions of his uniforms. They show up on the base varsion of the set (top right). The bottom two cards are the variation which have no "squiggles" with the bottom left having the color switch. hope this helps.

BTW, this also came out of my "variation" box along the other, so make that ELEVEN variatons in the box with two doubles.

I guess I can stratch the variations wants off my list...

Some news on the variations list from Press Pass. As we have uncovered already, there are 9 versions of the HOBBY "Chrome" cards. However, there will only be 6 versions found in RETAIL (Silver Foil). The following 3 variation cards were not produced for RETAIL:

#11a Jeff Gordon - Tires in background in a blue border
#81a Tony Stewart – background numbers (01's) have been changed to (02's) and orange border is on the right.
#83a Dale Earnhardt Jr - Blue on sides of card, no Sprint Cup trophy on upper right of card.

Also noted, in the RETAIL product, card #72 which is the Yates Racing Brigades was not produced. Looks like the RETAIL base set will go without this card, it will not be produced apparently.
