Bears release Benson
What a bust! Does anyone remember how emotional he was on draft day? I thought that was a sign of a great future.
Will any teams sign him? Maybe Houston?

He is a disgrace to the Longhorns with this showing of back to back DUI's and inappropriate behavior. He won't do anything in the NFL now, IMO.

I feel Benson got what he deserved!! 2 DUI charges in a month is mad, whether your a Pro athlete or not! + His on the field performance has been poor. 13 Games missed with injury, only 10 TD's over 3 season's and all the problems with comments about his fellow Bear's team mates he made. As other users have said, he is certainly a bust!!

Hopefully for the Lions they don't pick him up. I am a firm believer in second chances but when you mess up like that TWICE after they gave you a chance, I'm sorry. Plus the Lions I think found their man in Kevin Smith.

If I recall correctly, Benson also got into trouble with the Law a little furthur back for breaking into a house to retrieve something of his / breaking into a friend's house, something along those lines. This would then mean that this 2 DUI charge is his 3rd run in with the law, so he seems to have had more than 1 second chance already!!
