    Is this worth a negative?

So I make a deal with a member here.

My auto/manufactured patch for his Money Order.

We are both "New Members" and the other trader asks who will be sending 1st. I tell him we both send at the same time.

He agrees with "I'll send today!!!" THis was 7/3/08 last Thursday

I send mine out and he receives on Saturday (We live 70 miles apart)

I get nothing on Saturday or Monday and PM him asking if he received mine and sent his like he was supposed to.

His answer was "yes yours should be coming soon."

I get nothing on Tuesday or Wednesday and it finally comes yesterday.

He bought the MO on the 6th, 3 days after he said he would send and mailed it either on the 7th or 8th (The USPS postmark was the 8th but he could have dropped it in a mailbox on the 7th.)

So he lies to me more than once but I did receive the MO.

Is a negative warrented here? I believe so. Let me know what you think.

PS. Oh yeah I mark the trade as completed on my end and he still hasn't done that even though he's had the item since last Saturday and has logged on many times since then.

yea i agree. a neutral is a big enough warning. and as a fyi. dont feel scared to do so, if he were to leave a negative or neutral on you in retailiation, you just need to pm a moderator and they would remove it.

Yeah I wouldn't say that's a neg...you got your end of the deal in a somewhat timely manner, just a little later than expected. On eBay, people tend to be a little more quick to leave bad feedback, but I like to think people on here are a little more forgiving. I look at eBay as a place where I'll probably never come in contact with that person again anyway, but on here, it's a much smaller community and it's a lot more important for your trading and theirs to build a better relationship with people.

Honestly, I wouldn't even give the guy a neutral. Both parties received their end of the deal and nothing was damaged or the wrong thing. If you're really unhappy about it, just don't deal with the guy any more and maybe not leave any feedback at all...it will take him longer to get out from under the MSF rule. It's not much, but it's something and you can do that without making an enemy on the site.

id say a weeks transition time isnt too bad, i wouldnt leave a neutral for that. my issue would be with his dishonesty. If Im late when I mail something, I tell people that, I dont say that ive sent when I havent yet. I would not leave a neutral, but if the lie bothers you that much, simply dont leave feedback, and dont trade with him again

Thanks for your thoughts. This make sense.

I'm not afraid of retalitory feedback as I lived up to my word and he didn't.
    Thanks for the reply

If he had said I can't get the MO until Sunday I would have been cool with that. If he had not lied to me and was up front with me that would have cool.

I will do things "right" even when I have 100 deals complete. This person just didn't seem to care about keeping his word.

    Thanks for the reply

Well I will not be trading with him again that is for sure. Also the dishonesty thing is the biggest thing for me. Even if he had sent the next day and it still took a long time to get to me I wouldn't have had a problem.

He sent it 4 or 5 days after he said he would.

    Thanks for the replay!

I would leave positive because sometimes cards get stuck in the Post Office. He answered your PM's and you got the card in like 5-7 days. I think that is a reasonable time for a delivery.

Sometimes you think you can go to the Post Office in a day and something happens. I don't think is a big deal to way a couple of days. Just don't deal with him anymore.

I dealt with an individual that took 6 weeks for their end of the deal to show up!! He even cheated by sending their cards to me in MY bubble envelope with "Return to Sender" written on it??!! So they could save postage I'd assume. I was told by a Mod to leave Positive, because the trade was completed.
