Mike Bossy rookie card, I was so excited to get it I didn't look close enough until I got home and realized it was a reprint, and it said it right on the front of the card!
Still don't know how I missed it 60.00 bones down the drain,I try not to think about it too much.

Justin verlander 2005 sweet spots red/blue stitching blue ink/30 auto books for 100. i guessed on the Jeter/bush 1st edition that it would be 125ish and it ended up at 200. lost 75 in trade. i could have sold the jeter/bush 1st edition on ebay.

My Larry Johnson Sage Gold auto rookie. Oh don't get me wrong, I love the card, but I thought he was on his way to being an all time great, but is just another real good back..I gave up a Kevin Garnett 95-96 Draft Redemption for it, and the sad part is, I'm pretty sure that card would've graded real well if I got it graded. Basically, I'm an idiot!

Now that is just wrong ... for the dealer to take advantage of somebody like that is unethical!! Were they the licensed OPC reprints? If so, it couldn't have been worth more than $5.00. How old were you when you made that purchase? I think I would have gone back down there and demanded a refund and if I were younger, with my parent(s) !!
My most regretful buys were:
2 - A Score Eric Lindros draft day card. I don't remember all the details about it except that they were originally handed out at the draft but I think leftover cards cards were inserted into packs. Anyways I paid $75 for it - and the rest is history!
1 - I decided to get back into card collecting while picking up some milk at the convenience store. Saw some 90-91 UD hockey on the counter and picked up 2 or 3 packs. I was instantly impressed by the quality of the product and especially the hologram! So I decided to do the set. I picked up a few more paks but since it was near the end of the season, I couldn't find many stores that still had packs, so I found a card store near my house (actually it was a guy who had rented out a little corner of a convenience store to sell his cards). Anyways I went there and told him I was looking to do the set. He pulled out his box of cards and proceded to pull out all the cards on my list. Then he opened his Beckett (I had no idea what a Beckett was back then) and started tallying up the HI prices on each card! By the time he was done I owed him $210.00. Later on, when the High series came out, I saw an ad in the paper selling the complete set sealed set for - if I recall correctly $140! But hey! I have the hard to get and expensive Bure and Fedorov RCs!

well, when i first joined the site, i was taken advantage big time! i traded a 1/1 carson palmer auto for a 3 color patch of brady/maroney /25 and a regular gu of brady. i pulled the palmer from a $30 06 playoff complete set with the bonus pack, so i cant be to mad. (i really want to get another set, you get all the major rc's bush, lineart, young, colston etc, plus the bonus pack)

It would have to be when I was just collecting. I thought anything old would be vintage and I saw this shop that had a box of 88 Topps baseball, so I was like what the heck, it was $10. Nothing in the box, but it wasn't because of the price that I regret it, but because of all the space it takes up sitting there, lol.

hmm, id have to say, back in 1989 when the Indians had a rookie SS named Mark Lewis. Kid hit about .350 his first 6 weeks, and I loaded up on his 89T rookie cards for 5 bucks a piece- which was a lot of money for a 9 year old. Yeah, well, Mr Lewis isnt exactly in the Hall of Fame, his RCs are worth .08 each, and Ive not forgotten that lesson when it comes to "cant miss baseball prospects"

I can think of a few examples-
the box of 89 donruss I bought for $10 when I was younger looking for the griffey rookie. didn't pull the griffey and also didn't pull the schilling. the highlights of that box were one randy johnson rc and 2 sheffields and that was about it for the entire box. now I just have tons of worthless firewood lying around.
my akili smith collection- luckily I didn't start it until just after he lost the starting job so prices were on the decline then
basically every player I collected from the 99 draft lol- my first ebay purchase was a regular tim couch rc. I think i paid like $6 on it. among the other brilliant purchases that year were some akili smith rookies, I began a cade mcnown collection, and bought several lots of ricky williams rookies.
