Opinions on bucket organization

How do you like to organize your photobucket? I have it by teams but seem to get a lot of complaints about having so many albums. I could sort it by other ways, but this seems best to me. Thoughts?

I like to see buckets organized by sport, then card type. I have mine set up by Football Autos/GUs (don't have enough to need two folders), Football RCs, Football Inserts, Hockey GU/Auto, Hockey RCs, etc. I've also seen the first level be Football, Hockey, Baseball, etc, then the next level be Auto, GU, Inserts, RCs, etc., which is fine with me too.

For team collectors, sorting them by team works good. But a lot of people, myself included, collect several players on different teams and/or are just looking for tradebait. I prefer to be able to go into the Football Autos folder and just browse through looking for ppl I collect or just anything that catches my eye. With a bucket that's sorted out into teams, I'm much less likely to go through everything, which means I may miss something that I would have liked and we both miss out on a trade.

But I will say having it sorted into teams is much better than just throwing everything in there w/no organization at all....or even putting everything football into just one folder. At least you have some clue as to what you're looking at.

I do think having a folder for each team is a little overboard. It makes it very difficult to look through. You may like several different players or teams and would take a bit to click through everything. I think you should do your PC and personal folders the way you want, but if you're going to trade you shouldn't have a ton of folders.

If I had more tradebait, I would probably have it by sport and Auto's, jerseys, rookies and misc. However since I don't have a lot, I put everything in a trade bait folder.

I do it by my collection, so I have an Urlacher PC folder, a National Treasures folder, and then a selling/trade folder. Remember, its your bucket so you can do it anyway that makes you happy, who cares about complaints, right?

Football Autos FT
Football GU FT
Football Inserts FT
Football RC FT
Dallas Cowboy PC NFT
Jim Brown PC NFT
Jamal Lewis PC NFT
Texas Longhorn PC NFT

check my bucket out, i think it is pretty straight forward and haven't ever had a complaint.

The biggest thing is make sure you scans aren't too small. Label each scan with relevant info such as player name, serial # and team

I just remembered that Photobucket has tags now too...so if you still wanted to keep some kind of team organization, you could set your folders as Football Autos, Baseball inserts, whatever, then add tags to the pics w/the team name and people could click on a certain team if that's all they're looking for.

Like patriotsguy said, in general I definitely prefer a big pic w/at least the players name, if not the whole name and what card it is, for the title. There's little I hate more than looking in someone's bucket and the scans are either too small or such bad quality that you can't even tell what the card is...what's the point?

I do it by SPORT > AUTOS/GU'd/NSERTS/RCS, then tag them all and that makes the Team folders below too! Have found that to work pretty well as the cards are in both the proper type section and their team section.
