Buy singles of the players you like. The most popular are Sp Authentic, Contenders, National Treasures, Exquisite, and Bowman/Topps Chrome. The only Hobby Boxes I buy anymore are SP authentic. The other companies I let other people pay the high hobby box prices and I buy the singles they pull. The only other way I buy Hobby boxes are when the next years stuff comes out and You save alot because everyone wants the newest thing out. Hope this helps...

Like dan243 said, you can get some nice singles for alot less than the box price, but if you like the thrill of busting packs there's nothing wrong with going back to 2006 and 2007 products as they can be found for alot less now than their initial release.take care Steve

I have bought lots of blasters of topps rooie progression,It is a nice set but I would suggest buying hobby boxes if you have a dealer by you that is reasonably priced. You can get last years elite which has a much better rookie class than this years for under 70 dollars a box and it comes with 2 hits a signature and a gu plus lots of inserts,Playoff prestige from 2007 is being sold online for 42 dollars per box and has 2 hits also plus alot of decent inserts,If you are looking for 2008 products topps chrome is out and selling at 56 dollars online it comes with a guaranteed autograph a boxtopper uncirculated numbered to 199 or less and some refractors and inserts.ud 2008 comes with 2 gu and an autograph and is selling for 57 dollars online, hope this helps a little take care Steve

I forgot elite, they are by far one of my favorites. So called BV is always strong on the rookies and they have great auto inserts. I don't buy progression or any of the other first releases. Classics are always nice also.

players have short careers and price jumps happen one week when they do good and drop the next if they do bad. Just remember Price Guides are just a ball park figure and no matter what they are always a month or 2 behind.

elite might hold its value but those other products lose value as the season goes on
