That question has been raised as far back as 7 when patch cards started to take off years ago in this article I was interviewed for

    http://espn.go.com/sportsbusiness/s/...1/1579655.html

They even put me in outside the lines with Jeremy Schapp about it. I was on there with the president of Donruss at the time Bill Dulley, Byron Leftwich and some guy that sued topps. Even got phone call from Don Fehr afterwards. I should copy it and send it to ya. My 15 minutes of fame on live TV on ESPN. It was cool. Either way there is just no way to tell anything. Who is to say Emmitt wore any of his jerseys that are cut up and inserted. Nobody has proof. The typing on the back of the card syaing it was used or worn or guaranteed is not proof. Get where I am going..It is a nature of the beast Caveat Emptor.
If anybody needs dead certain proof for any of these memorabilia cards. This hobby is not for them. Either way article is a good read. Funny how a question raised 7 years ago by a major network yet nothing happened.

edit- BTW Why would they change it has not had a red cent affect on value or bids :) I know because at the end of the day less then 1% care. It is too bad.

See that's what I'm talking about though. Did you pull them? Or did somebody you know really well bought it from someone who swore they pulled it? Too many loopholes, too much to question. And in the end, I don't blame the patch fakers. Upper Deck makes it way too easy for them and know it, yet continues in the same fashion. And oh by the way, all of those SPA patches are being scrutinized to death from what really goes on behind the curtains at the Rookie Premiere. It's a shame. Such an awesome idea that has turned on it's face for these very reasons.

Great Article. My 2 cents on this whole thing is One I can care less if the player had or wore the jersey, I would drive myself insane If I did that. Two, Theres great people such as yourself and others who are very knolegable on these subjects so If i ever need to buy anything In question I just ask. Usually you guys hit it right on the head!
