    Merriman to play...

Doesn't sound like a great idea:

Yeah, i have to agree. I don't see why he would further risk his healthy just to play. But oh well, let's see how he holds up. Philip Rivers' knee isn't quite there yet, he would hobble a bit on some throws the other night, they really need to make sure he is healthy too

Well he will last a game and that will be it...for his career. Can someone give this guy some common sense.

Merriman is being foolish, especially when next year is a contract year. The Chargers shouldn't even let him play, but more evidence that teams ultimately don't care about their players.

i mean i guess he's showing he is a team player but if he injures himself the chargers aren't going to reward him with a fat new contract..what a bonehead

What a 'tard!!! Why would he want to play if his doctors already told him he could have a career ending injury. I guess he knows more than they do, so when he blows his knee out for good, he can just get into the medical field since he knows so much about it. There's being a team player and then there's your own personal health, I guess he doesn't mind walking with a limp (maybe worse) for the rest of his life.

I heard on the radio yesterday that he had 3 doctors tell him not to play and he was looking to get a 4th opinion. I guess if you really want to do something, you're going to do it.

All 4 doctors he has seen have told him to have the season ending surgery. It's apparent Merriman has a hearing problem on top of his knee injury.
