    Game Used alittle over done?

I used be pretty heavy into collecting back 10 or so years ago. I noticed with the new products everyone putting out GU and autos just seem to be to common. Is the market flooded because of this? I remember getting a card because it looked cool. die-cuts were may fav.

    so i am asking this....

Is all the GU and autos bad for the hobby?

what do you miss about the hobby that no longer is available?

I personally miss the Coins that came with a pack of cards in a tin can.... anyone remember them?

The normal insert cards have no value anymore because of the game used and
auto cards. I remember when some inserts of the top stars went for 50 to 100
per card. But because of the game used their value has gone way down over
    the past few years.

its like the interest of inserts and parallels has just died,
i remember about 10 years ago inserts were a big thing and was awesome to pull, now people just dont want them anymore or if you offer them for trade they dont want it or want you to trade down because it dont have a name or a piece of jersey on it.

Yea, I started again recently, but I remember being so excited pulling a sweet Michael Jordan Insert (during his prime).

People these days are just throwing common GUed like it's worth nothing...Personally, I would like to go back to those days when one GU card was high priced and rare. Autos....that's out of the question :)

only parallels that sell decent are bowman chrome refractors etc but they are tough to pull basically like a gu/auto

well yeah refractors are still around, but they blew that out of the water also, with blue, red, and whatever other colors they use.A refractor use to be just a nice shiny card that was worth a bit more than the reg.Besides those,
I think that 1998 was the highlight of parallels and inserts.Remember the Epix inserts that Pinnacle and Score made, werent those card just beautiful,LOL i still have some. And Die Cut cards were the BOMB.There were so many inserts it was a tough job,but fun, putting sets together.

Many of the patches out there are "event used" and not game used since they use those for the rookies. Seems like the veteran players get the game used ones.

There are way to many GU of nobody players and that in my opinion pushes the price of boxes and packs way up. Now you get 3 gu or autos per box so they charge more and then you open the box and get 3 guys who will never make it in their sport. It has really taken the excitement out of pulling one. I would like to go back to where they are inserted 1:200 or something like it used to be. I don't thing that it is hurting the hobby it just isn't as exciting to pull one anymore.
