My bad....Harris, Kelly, you guys knew who I meant.

I can think of A LOT of bad picks by the Raiders in the last decade or so. Some may not have been outright busts but they didn't become anything like what they were touted to be.

All 1st or 2nd round picks: Mo Collins, Tony Bryant, Matt Stinchcomb, Leon Bender, Jerry Porter, Marques Tuiasosopo, Phillip Buchanon, Napoleon Harris, Tyler Brayton, Teyo Johnson. Even Michael Huff and JaMarcus Russell still have yet to live up to their draft position.

I don't think As Davis will give control of the team to anyone. The whole reason the team has been thru so many head coaches is because he can't keep from involving himself in the day to day coaching duties and he feels the need to dictate every little thing the coach does. If he has to micro-manage every little detail then there is no way he will be willing to let someone else take over the entire operation. At most he MIGHT let someone take over drafting, but even then I imagine he will reserve the right of final say on who to draft.

I would like to know how you came to the conclussion that Rusell has yet to live up to his draft potential when this is his 1st year as a starter?

    Kind of simple really.

Drafted #1 overall. Beat out for the starting job by Josh McCown and Daunte Culpepper in 2007. In 3 starts this season he has averaged 130 yards per game passing and has only completed 51% of his passes.

I am not saying the guy is a bust. I am saying that when you draft a QB with the #1 overall pick you expect him to be able to beat out guys like McCown and Culpepper and you expect him to complete more than 51% of his passes.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would say that Russell has been everything the team thought he would be when they used the #1 pick on him.

Sorry bro, you're way off on this. Russell held out of last year's training camp because of contract disputes. So to say he was "beat out" by McCown or Culpepper is false. Secondly, from the beginning it was said that this year the Raiders would lessen his load by running the ball. Which is why his numbers haven't been great. But when given the chance to throw, he has looked well. So before you start making claims of him getting "beat out" by guys that aren't even on rosters, please look up the facts.

I know he held out. Doesn't change the fact that he is 2-5 as a starter.

Furthermore, less passes or not, he is still only completing 51.6% of his passes and only averaging 6.3 yards per pass attempt. I don't care if he is throwing 15 or 50 passes per game, 51% completition and 6 yards per attempt won't cut it in the NFL.

Don't take me wrong, I am not saying he is a bust. However, I think most teams expect a little more progress out of a #1 overall pick than he has displayed so far. I give him a little more benefit of the doubt than normal because he is playing for the Raiders. On a better team with better talent and a better owner he would probably already be ahead of where he is now.

So why did you say he got "beat out" by Culpepper and McCown? You're talking about a guy that is in his first year starting. Not everyone can be Tom Brady Give the guy a break, he has less than 10 starts. Not to mention that his WRs this season haven't exactly been that great. He has shown a lot of potential.

Aww, the Cowgirl fan is mad because even with 13 Pro Bowlers, they still can't win a playoff game
