    Interesting question?

In your mind, what percentage of the autographs we recieve on football cards do you believe is authentic or truly signed by the designated player?

Just wondering your take on this.

99.9% authentic...too much too loose for the card companies and the players.

I'm just curious....but who do YOU think is signing them, if the actual player isn't?

    And my answer is 100%.

i remember one of the guys in the 95 signature rookies set had his girlfriend sign some.

there were a few autos in a couple of the pro line sets that were auto penned. that is a machine that once programmed signs the same signature on every card.

there is a strong case for one of the 97 legends having two different sigs. ud denies it.

can't remember who, but one of the players from 91 or 92 pro line had a rubber stamp made of his sig. :-) i know, i started collected autos because of the pro line, they were the first big auto set. just have to say, 97 legends best auto set ever.

lastly, who signs the santa cards?

Not sure about a number, but I agree with this. If it came out that just one player's auto wasn't authentic, the entire company would take a hit.

If they witness the signings why don't they have more on card instead of stickers?

jamesrud7380: I completely agree with you. Most card companies say that the sickers/cards were sent to and returned from Ex. Demarcus Ware. If the stickers were sent to him and returned, almost anybody could have signed them.

100% does seem way too high to me but it does make sense that card companies would be worried about taking the hit for just one false signer.

With the stickers a rep is usually there watching all the stickers being signed.

If there is a rep there to hand him a sheet of stickers, why doesn't he hand him a stack of trading cards to sign instead? That is my question.
