Removing Red Kool Aid Stains from Carpet
I know I know not exactly what you expect to find on a sports cards site but some of us have kids.
Alright I got 2 little ones. Ages 4 and 2 and they thought it would be great about a month back to dump (yes dump) a gallon of Red Kool Aid onto my white carpet. I live in an apartment and first thing that came to mind is ohh snap there goes my deposit.
After searching and trying various methods and being told by family and friends that there is no way to remove it. I found out how to remove it.
GOOGLE FTW!!!!!
Basically all you need is a white wash cloth (any color will do but trust me you'll want it white just to see it) a bucket of water and some good old fashioned liquid dish soap.
All you have to do is put 1-2 drops of liquid dish soap into about a cup of water. Soak the white wash cloth in the solution and then wring it out. Not too much you want it a little damp. Put the damp wash cloth over the stain and set your iron on a low setting on top of that. Leave it for around 15 minutes. DO NOT PUSH DOWN!!!!
Basically all you are doing is creating a steam cleaner. I tried various expensive steam cleaners and nothing worked.
I only wish I had taken before and after pictures but I tell you this is the coolest thing I've ever seen (i don't get out much)
Hope this at least helps people. BTW It helped one guy get out a stain from 10 years ago. Like I said I know this isn't something that you would normally find on here but I'm telling everyone. Don't look at me like that. I'm serious. Stop. LOL.
Here is the original article that gave me the idea

Be careful using this method on any carpet other than white I have been told that It can also take the color out of the carpet. If you do use it on colored carpet be ready to dye the carpet back to the color it was before.
Like I said I hope someone here at least finds it helpful. Thought I'd share since y'all are like my extended family. I know people on here have had stains that just won't go away or maybe do have stains now that they'd like to get rid of. Yet again just sharing. No negative comments needed. Can you tell I can already since people pointing and laughing?

believe it or not I own a few. it works great. Now let the kool aid or cola sit for a while and then try it. The shammy does its job effectively but the kool aid sat about 1-2hrs. My kids woke up before me. More than anything I think it stained the carpet. Either way the shammy is the first resort. Last resort is the above mentioned.

I'm surprised that you didn't have leakage onto the floor below with that amount.
