    Bumping Rule Has Been Changed

Effective as of now, we are reducing the bump rule from 12 hours to 8 hours.

For those unsure of what is considered a bump, it is any post you make that pushes your thread to the top of the list in a forum. This also includes any consecutive post you make, so you can't simply be the last to post by replying to someone and come back two hours later and bump it.

As for previous warnings and infractions, they will not be reversed as this rule change does not affect those in any way, so please don't ask for reversals on them.

I know my threads get pushed back about 12 pages in matter of couple of hours. Way too many threads being opened on trade/sell pages. Most of them being duplicates, people not bumping their old but rather creating new, essentially same ones.

Report them - that's not allowed, and we try and catch the ones we can.

just a question here. can you get hit with multiple infractions at the same time? i reported someone bumping yesterday twice. he bumped it 3 times in 4 hours and 30 minutes after i report him, he bumps it again. would that get him more than 1 infraction?

I mean seriously you are reporting people for bumping? if u wanna win your trader of the year you should worry less about others and more about yourself, thats why we have Mods

^ Actually, as a former moderator, it greatly helps when regular members report any infractions because mods cannot get to everything.

I think the new rule is good, particularly for the more active baseball and football forums. I know it's hard to get a thread up there lasting for any length of time.

Usually, no. But if we issue an infraction, and it continues, then absolutely. But if it's a couple of bumps before they get notified that they're doing something wrong, then they won't get multiple warnings or infractions.

Actually, it's EXTREMELY helpful to have members report posts. It also greatly helps the site and makes it easier to find offenders. Especially when you read virtually every thread in every forum, which it appears Dan does :)

Fair enough. I assure you there is a need, even though you don't see it. I'm not saying report someone for bumping 10 minutes early, but when someone creates 4 threads in the same forum in two hours, and they're all virtually the same, it helps a lot if someone reports them. Things like that.
