Poll Suggests U.S. Troops Support McCain 3-1
A poll by the Military Times newspaper group suggests that there is overwhelming support for John McCain among U.S. troops in every branch of the armed forces by a nearly 3-1 margin.
According to the poll, 68 percent of active-duty and retired servicemen and women support McCain, while 23 percent support Barack Obama. The numbers are nearly identical among officers and enlisted troops.

Most of them are supporting McCain because if we still at war we get paid more and get more benefits. Since Obama wants to end the war as sson as he gets in office, people are going to get cut from the service and their recruiting quotas would go down

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that. That might be the case for some, but not the majority. I think the soldiers in Iraq would rather come home and be with their families over receive good pay and benefits. They're voting for McCain because they share his ideals.
Also, I'm not saying this is the main reason, but I've been reading reports for a few years now from soldiers who see everyday the difference that they're making over there. They see how their presence and efforts have made a difference in the lives of the Iraqi people and they believe what they're doing is right. But we rarely, if ever, hear those stories from CNN, MSNBC, etc.

My issue with this is how often those in support of bringing the troops home tend to say they are speaking for the troops. Or that the troops want to come home. However, the troops themselves are supporting the candidate who they know will leave them there longer.
