There's about 3 card shops and a one hobby warehouse (that's only open on wednesdays and saturdays) down here in Long Beach. I've only been to one of the card shops, and yeah, they only sell boxes and no packs, but the people down at the warehouse are usually nice about letting you pick out packs.

So where do you get your cards from? That sux.

Use to just buy retail - now just from trades on here....eventually will save up enough to buy a hobby box. I just got tired of getting screwed on hits out of retail, and reading how people pack search, I stopped buying individual packs...only thing I'll buy of retail is sealed blaster boxes.

Hey I lived in Anaheim a little while ago, and now live in Corona. For the warehouse, are you talking about Frank & Sons? I've heard about it but never been, have you been and is it worth the trip down there? Do they have any older Hobby Boxes? like maybe late 90's?

In terms of Hobby Shops, I think it's harder and harder to make a living nowadays for them. But just selling boxes is kind of weird and probably a hurtful business practice?? I'm sure there are ways to monitor pack searching...

The one hobby shop I used to go to keeps the higher end products in the glass case and you have to ask the guy in order to get those packs.

I had to double check with my friend, but yeah, that's the name of the place. And it's definitely worth going at least once just to see the huge variety of different collectables that are there (just imagine Cosco but nothing but hobby collectables). I do usually see a few 90's boxes scattered around from different sellers, but nothing really major, but the singles are priced very reasonably, and some sellers are usually nice about cutting down the price.

I mainly go over there just to get screw down and magnet card cases, since they're usually only a dollar, and of course, to look around.

I bet there's more to it that he is not telling you maybe... if it was really people just picking packs he could always just have it behind the counter and pick the packs for them.

Hey cool! You live near me! I live in Lincoln/River road area too, right at the gated community parkside green. That's great about the shop... I think I'll go check it out once I'm settled at my new place.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack thread... back to topic. It's really weird for a hobby shop to sell boxes only... =\

The shop i work at sells packs and/or boxes, as long as whoever wants to open a new box of something not yet open, the only thing my boss wants is for them to buy more than 1 pack, and all the boxes there are behind the counter so we can make sure they dont pack search
