Wayne is no where close to Hip-Hop and he is not bringin it back (he's flushing it down the toilet even further). Wayne is Rap and just my humble opinion, he's lame. There is a big difference between Hip-Hop and Rap and most people don't know it. No offense to you macballerbubba but from another post of your's I believe your still in high school and if true your probably too young to know the difference. Sure there are still some people out there I consider more "hip-hop" but most if not all of the stuff you hear on your local stations now a days is "rap".
When I speak of Hip-Hop I'm talking groups and people like
The Roots
Tribe Called Quest
The Fugees (sort of a cross breed hip hip/funk/jazz)
Bahamadia
Black Sheep
Souls of Mischief
Del the Funky Homosapien
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Those are the mainstream ones you may recognize. I could list for days people and groups you have probably never heard of that would blow your mind with their styles and word play.

JeRmZ-I'm applaudin you for that list right there. thats the real stuff.
Rap-talkin about how people are gonna mess people up and the guns and all that other stuff. Hip Hop on the other hand, talks about real things in society today where they actually say stuff through their music...not about being a pimp

Definitely stoked for the new Em as well as Dre (if it drops this year, which I have my doubts)
I wish Luda would come out w/ a new one. Give me him any day over kanye (lame)

Eminem is crap, he used to be good lyricly but all his recent albums surte as hell werent he just rants off a bunch of radio hit jingles in his TERRIBLE voice.
his rapping voice is GOD AWFUL, I heard the guy talk many times, he should just rap in his real voice

Some of these lists are crazy because they just look at what's hot on the radio right now.
My favorites in no particular order:
-Nas (How can nobody mention him? I mean seriously, top 5 dead or alive)
-B.I.G.
-2pac
-The Game
-Eminem
-Dre (Chronic 2001 is one of my favorite albums)
-Apathy & The Demigodz
-Bone Thugs & Harmony
-Busta Rhymes
-Common (amazing)
-Twista (his old stuff, plus not so much anymore since my friend is trying to get him on his album but he's being "not nice" with it, but he's got Do or Die on plenty of tracks)
-DMX (his music is really catchy and he's a great performer)
-Method Man (I guess you could put Wu Tang in here too)
-Outkast
