Am I Paranoid Right Now???
OK, so tommorow i "try out" for my schools bowling team (even though i'll make it regardless of JV/Varsity) so, my problem is i've been paranoid since i heard a 3rd senior is trying out, apparantly its an unwritten rule that in most cases a senior is put on varsity or they are cut, but wont be put on JV (in most cases again i say it) last year, i started on JV, because a senior who wasnt very good tried out, but they didnt want to cut him. there are 3 seniors coming back who are really good (195-205 averages each) then there are 3 seniors that arent to good (150-165 average). i have averaged 193 on my current league and have 33 games to establish that average. i am one of two juniors to try out, and i havent seen the other one who was on varsity play since last year, so i am almost going insane about tommorow because i know i dont deserve JV, but this same thing happened last year.
i guess i need some one to calm me down as i've been paranoid all day and cant relax. the coach for out varsity team is new this year, the old coach "quit" (even though they dont get paid anyhow) and our new coach has always gotten along with me, and he would probably want to put me on Varisty, but the amount of serniors trying out could dictate that.
sorry for the long read!

All you can do is put your best foot forward and let the cards play out. If the coach chooses an undeserving senior over you simply because of that there isn't much you can do about it other than prove him wrong by lighting it up on the JV team.
It is a lot easier to say this than it is to do it, but there is nothing to gain by worrying about it. You can only control how you perform.

Just be ready to play your A game. If you really are that good, you won't have any problem making the team.

If you're good enough and would be an asset to the varsity team, you'll be put on varsity. I started varsity soccer all 4 years of high school not because there was a lack of seniority on the team, but because the team needed skill to advance to the next level. If they need you that bad, you'll make it.

they needed me that bad last year! i got moved from JV to Varsity 3 meets after the season began, we had a terrible record, but in regionals there are two parts, i wont explain them because they take to long..lol but the first part we finished 2nd, with the same 5 people that all are returning, and were on varsity last year and i believe we are the best 5/
i'm just hoping the new coach has a different mindset, even though i know he does, our last coach didnt want to be there but his wife was a co-head coach of the program so he had no choice..lol

You are not paranoid, you are feeling adrenaline from the nature of competetion (in the form of tryouts), which is natural.
To me, I love the feeling, embrace it man and have a "killer" attitude. Be aggressive and have fun earning a spot on the varsity team bro ;)
