I have never used it, to be honest. Judging by the responses here (with exception to OPT), I am apparently a freak.
Don't like cell phones, either, but I carry one mostly for emergency purposes (as a diabetic, it's important to have in case I get in an odd blood sugar situation).

Aww, you're not a freak! I never even had a cell phone until I was 18..I'm pretty sure I was the only one at school without one!

I think my first cellphone was 18 as well! Mom and dad had me get one since I was commuting out of town for my first two years of college.

I've been texting for years...and with 3 teenage boys it's become a large part of our life. Probably about 50 a day.

I never text unless I have to. I really hate typing out words on a telephone keypad when i can just call someone and say it. The only time I text is if I am at a concert and trying to find a friend (noise is too loud to call) or I like to have texting there in case I am ever in an emergency situation where I can't call (like a kidnapping).
Unfortunately everyone I know loves to text, but I always tell them... Don't text me! lol.

molly, we are a lot alike!
At least one thing about today's society is that cell phones and texting are becoming increasingly associated with males as well. When I was growing up, people of both gender would give me remarks along the lines of, "OMG what is wrong with you, girls are supposed to love phones!"

I love texting. I guess I've been a user for about 3 years. it sounded stupid when I first heard of it, but it's essentially email and I've always loved email. I don't really like talking on the phone so it's perfect. Although some people want to have detailed discussions on text and that's quite annoying. :) I think I've maxed at a few hundred texts in a month.
