Dang. Well, great game - very competitive. The Celtics will just start a winning streak again tomorrow night against the Warriors.

I snuck in to catch the last couple of minutes on my personal TV where family couldn't interrupt. :)
Gasol was the X-factor tonight - he came up huge at the end. That is what they missed in the Finals. Plus, Kobe took less than 24 shots. Prior to the game, a stat listed that when Kobe takes fewer than 24 shots, the Lakers are undefeated.
I see this game as a warning for Boston. They can't get complacent with their dominance. I do expect them to win the second match-up since they will be in Boston. However, if the Lakers and Celtics rematch in the Finals (a definite possibility), they will need homecourt, and they will need to keep Gasol in check, forcing Kobe to take lots of shots while the Celtics play at a faster tempo (they let the Lakers dictate them into halfcourt tonight - while the Celtics shot well, it was a low-scoring affair with not very many free throws - you need to be aggressive and run more to win these kinds of games).

I'm so glad the Lakers won. Sure it was only one of 82 regular season games but I did not want the Lakers to be another tally mark in the Celtics streak.

Overall, great game for the Lakers, and obviously, it’s only one game, but this IS the one game that will give the Lakers the confidence that they CAN beat the Celtics, despite the Celtics recent success.
It’s amazing how a team who is in a slump, or is still recovering from their recent slump, beat a team that was playing perfect basketball these past two weeks. I just can’t to see when the Lakers actually play consistently good.
The way I look at it, the sky’s the limit for the Lakers, they still have a lot to improve upon, and Phil Jackson understands when is the appropriate to peek and make there push. While the Celtics on the other, I think they’ve peeked too soon, I really don’t see how they could get better from here, unless they get new and better bench players, I personally don’t see it happening.
All I have to say is that you guys better expect even a tougher Laker squad in our next meeting, because you have not seen our best yet.Last edited by jeebus86; 12-26-2008 at 12:12 PM.

I feel like alot of the calls went toward the Lakers. Idk, that's just how it seemed to me.

Listening to the announcers on the radio, I got the same feeling. Just a few comments they made about a few of the calls that went the Lakers way.
