Bumping Rule Has Been Changed

i agree to help out you guys which i do with Spammers and more Serious Stuff but i dont see the need in Reporting Somone for Bumping, unless its getting out of hand....

what does any award to with reporting? the mod's really appriciate it like Andrew says, and alot of times it's better to be caught when you don't know and learn than to end up getting multiple infractions.

besides, for people who only get on 1-2 a day, it really matters for them to stay as close to the top as possible!

Actually, it's EXTREMELY helpful to have members report posts. It also greatly helps the site and makes it easier to find offenders. Especially when you read virtually every thread in every forum, which it appears Dan does :)

With the recent growth of SCF this is a great change. SCF prides itself on maintaing a fair trading community for our members.

Effective as of now, we are reducing the bump rule from 12 hours to 8 hours.

For those unsure of what is considered a bump, it is any post you make that pushes your thread to the top of the list in a forum. This also includes any consecutive post you make, so you can't simply be the last to post by replying to someone and come back two hours later and bump it.

As for previous warnings and infractions, they will not be reversed as this rule change does not affect those in any way, so please don't ask for reversals on them.

What if you reply to someone elses thread and someone else replied the same minute or minute before? I just did this, as I was replying to another member and then I replied to that member about an hour and a half later, when I saw it. My 2 replies are consecutive, but I didn't think someone would reply at roughly the same time I did, so I didn't see it at that time.

Something like that would be an exception...not everyone scrolls back up when they post...I know I don't, so it's easy to miss a reply posted at the same time...

Sounds like a great rule. I'm still a noob but this seems like one of the best moderated forums I've ever visited.
