Automakers to get $13.4 billion bailout
Well it appears this is the finalized deal.
I'm extremely disappointed. This is just another instance proving that Bush is not a conservative. We have liberals dressed as liberals and liberals dressed as conservatives...I wonder if we'll ever have a true Republican again.

Anyone who voted for Obama (or McCain for that matter), yet opposes the bailout isn't using their vote wisely. It's like believeing my Titans will win the Super Bowl but betting on the Colts...
If only people would stop allowing the media to make every political issue a two-sided issue, we'd be better off. People should wake up. There are many sides to every issue, but the media and the Government successfully pit Americans against each other by pushing the bi-party system. Wake up.
And elect a Libertarian next time. ;-)

McCain did as well. The only significant candidate I am aware of who opposed it is the Libertarian Bob Barr (not sure what Nader's thoughts on it are).

i don't know why they would...the reason they need it is because of unions for unskilled "laborers" who make 6 figures...

Precisely. So, when you voted for "Change," you should've voted for Barr. Like me and JammingJames.

The reason being if the automakers didnt get the bailout this country would fold.Say what you want about the unions But to me it sounds like people are just jealous they dont make good money all i have to say is move north and apply for the jobs.My mother is not a car maker,She works for a steel mill that rolls steel for the plants and last week was her last day of work they cut down there production by 70% for a minimum of 6 months now thats just 1 plant affectied now how about the other million plus workers in the industry that will or already lost there jobs. The unions adjusted there contracts NOW the ceos and all the white collar employees need to.Why is everyone blaming the working union members but not mentioning the 25 million dollars these ceos get(There bonuses will payalot of salaries) dont you agree. So just get over it and get on with your lives and stop worring what your neighbor makes

United States GDP: $13.84 trillion
Big 3 Market Capitalization: $46.93 billion
So, you are saying that if we were to completely lose the Big 3 car companies, which is 0.34% of our GDP, our country would fold? I think not. Furthermore, these companies will not cease to exist if they aren't bailed out. They can file for certain levels of bankruptcy, restructure their debts, pay them off (like WE THE PEOPLE do), and reopen. Circuit City is doing that exact thing as we speak.
No one said anything about unions in this topic. I blame the idiot Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill.
