    Official Thunder @ Wolves thread

    I know, another game-of-the-century!

Wolves lead 42-24 at the end of the first quarter. Randy Foye is on fire with 18 points already! WOW! Whoops, just as I type he hits another 3, so he now has 21 points on 7/7 shooting, 4/4 from downtown!

3 weeks ago, the Wolves would've been in a dogfight. Today, they lead by 32 heading into the fourth quarter. Score is 98-66. Foye has 32 points, Big Al with 21 and 12.

Foye had 32, Big Al had 21 annd 13 boards, Love scored 16 and pulled down a game high 15 boards, Carney and Smith each had 14 and Gomes had 10. 6 guys in double figures. And, 2 more were one shot away from double digits as well (Telfair 9, Miller 8). For the Thunder, Collison scored 17 and Westbrook scored 16 and dished 12 assists.

Amazing game by the quickly rising Wolves! Keep these games up!

Kevin McHale has apparently missed his calling for the last decade - he seems to be a pretty freakin' good coach! Or else he has just placed a voodoo hex on his old Boston team and charmed the Wolves!

Wolves going for #5 in a row tomorrow against an unpredictable Milwaukee club. Kevin Ollie has got to be the MVP so far at this point in the season. Let me explain. First, he is that token vet on a team with no real identity, and a young, unproven backcourt. Mike Miller gets hurt (for the first time) which opens up the offguard spot to Foye, and plants Ollie in the starting spot. Foye then gets to play his natural position, and Ollie gives them quality minutes at the end of games where the Wolves had been giving away games. Now Ollie gets hurt, and Telfair comes in like a new player. Telfair is becoming a better playmaker over the last 2 seasons with the more PT he gets. With that, his shot selection and overall shooting is much improved. He's looking like the PG for the rest of the season, with Foye at the offguard, and Miller (if he can ever stay healthy) a 6th man role. Telfair will obviously struggle his fair share if the time, but he's the closest thing the team has to a true PG. Since Telfair took over the team is playing very confidently, which you can see in their shooting. I see this team having a month of .500 ball possibly as soon as this month, but they're headed to the lottery once again.

Yeah, he's got the team playing real loose. He has gotten some crap for his front office moves the last few years, but he knows basketball. Coaching may just be more his forte than managing. As fas next year, if their is indeed a coaching vacancy, look for Flip Saunders to consider the position. It would be a welcome site to see the coach who put the team on the map to return.

Flip has been underappreciated, and I wouldn't mind seeing him return to Minny as a coach either if McHale doesn't continue past this season.

Sources are that Flip would only return to Minnesota if McHale wasn't at the helm. McHale sort of threw Flip under the bus when they weren't a .500+ team anymore. The only real knock on Flip was that his offense was schemed around jump shooting and not attacking the basket or playing the ball down low. The only thing with that is that his guards weren't athletic or aggressive enough to put the ball on the floor and penetrate, and as good as KG is, he is not a low post player. The Wolves are a completely different team now, and I think Flip could do wonders for the development of the Foye/Jefferson combo, which is the best duo the team has had since Cassell/Garnett, and even Marbury/Garnett. Again, the only way Flip comes back probably is if McHale is axed.
