Could Junior be the center field solution?
http://zellspinstripeblog.com/2009/0...ield-solution/
I haven’t heard anything really about Griffey going to the Yankees, but wouldn’t that be nice? I think he would be a perfect fit. Ken Griffey Sr. spent 4 1/2 years with the Yankees, so Jr. would be following in his dad’s footsteps.

I don't think he would sign with the Yankees. Hey may just retire.

No it wouldn't. It was a stupid idea years ago and it is even worse now. Plus he hates the Yankees:
June 21, 2008
Ken Griffey Jr. didn't make the walk out to Monument Park yesterday, and has no plans to do so this weekend. He won't stop to smell the roses, because Griffey figures he will have to hold his nose. "My favorite Yankee Stadium memory?" the Reds slugger said last night. "It's leaving Yankee Stadium."
Griffey is no fan of history, and no fan of the Yankees since Billy Martin, who has been dead for 17 years, yelled at a young Griffey while his dad, Ken Sr., was a member of the Bombers. Once, Junior said he would never play for the Yankees for that reason alone.Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

The yanks have a surplus of OF/DH guys and Griffey can no longer play CF.

he couldnt even handle a very small Chicago outfield, imagine him anywhere else, he needs to be a DH, and the Yanks have to many of them to begin with..lol

He hates the Yankees, he'll never end up there. Mike Cameron would have been the best solution at the Position.

Cameron? My god...no way
I'm personally contented to let Melky and Gardner duel it out in spring. But if we are swinging a trade, I think we can explore Ian Kennedy plus Melky/Gardner plus some other B grade pitching prospect for Rick Ankiel.
Ankiel is a FA next yr i believe and the Cards probably wont want to pay Scott Boras dollars. They are looking for pitching so its a possibility. Of cos the deal pending immediate negotiations for an extension.
Ankiel mans CF for 2009 and in 2010 hopefully Austin Jackson comes up to take over and Ankiel can shift to LF with the departure of Damon and Matsui.
