    90's youtube

If you forgot how fast and powerful Kemp was.....

He's vicious, is there anyone that plays a similar game to his today?

Video of "The Jordan Rules", neat show of Piston's defense in the bad boys era.... you get to see a lot of pseudo-zones, hand checks, shirt grabbing, and hard fouls..

I think you could say Amare or DH12 play kind of like him because they throw down hard.

Interesting that you posted that Kemp video. I saw it posted just today on an ESPN chat board, where they were comparing Oklahoma's Blake Griffin to Shawn Kemp. Griffin has drawn comaprisons to Amarie Stadomire, Dwight Howard, and Carlos Boozer...but Shawn Kemp is really the closest NBA player, that Griffin really reminds me of. Blake Griffin all but has the 1st Draft pick sewn up.

Kemp was amazing. I was lucky enough to see him play in person in Los Angelas. (1995) It was Shawn Kemp and the Sonics vs. Magic Johnson and the lakers!!!

I stumbled upon both those videos through the nba blogs. Liked them both so I share here. The Jordan vid is a bid long but I enjoyed it.

Howard is sort of like Kemp but doesn't seem to be as good a ball handler as Kemp and as fast. I love watching Kemp go coast to coast, it's like nothing can stop him.

Blake Griffin sounds like a good prospect...too bad his RC card will be a Panini only production...

Kemp was one of my favorite players as a kid. He had electrifying plays every game. The Sonics were my team then - Kemp, Payton, and McMillan!

I prefered Schremf or Hawkins than McMillan. =)

First, Thank you Whalechaser for sharing that video.
(I have the same one in my HDD though...)

I have collected and seen Shawn Kemp when he was at Sonics.
(I also saw His Videos in Toronto,1994 - Dream Team II)

Yes..Shawn Kemp was not perfect guy..I know...

He was upset by Dikembe Mutombo in 1993.
    (Sonics - 1st seed / Nuggets - 8th seed)

And He lost final in 1996.
(But it was VS Bulls and MJ...)

I have liked DH12 but I would not be able to agree about the same level as DH12 and Amare.
(Futhermore, they are different type players though)

Opponent of Shawn Kemp were Charles Barkley, Karl Malone.
(not like these days....Futhermore there were Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson in West Coast)

Like whalechaser's comment, Shawn Kemp could do Crazy Coast 2 Coast.

These days, a few crazy players also exist but there are only a few players can coast 2 coast.

    P.S. : I still remember Phill Jackson's comment in Timeout.(Of course, 1995 Final)
(Not exact the same but like below)

"Only deffense Shawn Kemp..others are so-so"
