2009 MLB Contest
This is a two-part contest.
Part One:
The first part of the contest will involve picking the standings of each division. You will get 3 points for each of the division winners you get correct, and 1 point for each other team you get correct.
Example:
If this had been done last year, and you had predicted this for the NL West, you would get the following number of points:
Dodgers 3 points
Rockies 0 points
Diamondbacks 0 points
Giants 1 point
Padres 1 point
For a total of 5 points. You will do this for each division in baseball - both NL and AL. There is a maximum of 42 possible points.
Part Two:
This part of the contest will involve picking the stat leaders for each league, in the following 10 categories:
HR's
BA
RBI
SB
Runs
SLG %
Wins
Strikeouts
Saves
ERA
You will also predict the actual number (i.e. # of HRs, Runs, Strikeouts, batting average, etc) for each stat. You will get 2 points for each player you get correct, and an additional point if you get the stat exactly right. You are only eligible for the additional point if you get the leader right. For example, if Pujols leads with 40 HRs, and you guess Howard (40 HRs), then you get 0 points, even though you got the stat correct.
There are a total of 60 points available for this part of the contest.
Misc Rules:
1. You may edit your posts up until March 31st, at 11:59 PM EST. Any edits after that will mean you are disqualified.
2. This contest is open to everyone, staff included, provided they have 200 meaningful posts on SCF at the contest deadline.
3. Please ask for any clarifications or answers to any questions in the thread, rather than via PM. The staff will check this periodically to answer your questions.
4. If the winning member(s) is (are) not on SCF at the end of the year, the next winner(s) will be moved up.
Now, the Prize(s):
1st place - 2008 Stadium Club Beam Team Printing Plate Auto Ronny Paulino 1 of 1
And, if 30 or more people enter, there will be a second prize of:
2nd place - 2008 Topps Triple Threads Relic (jersey/bat/jersey) David Ortiz 21/36
