i'd like to see the shaq trade in a way but i dont think it's the best move to keep lebron since shaq will be retiring about the same time he's a free agent. i just hope they dont go trade crazy like the suns have done in recent years.

See....that's what doesn't make sense to me. Too many bigs?
You start Z at center, Shaq at PF. Shaq isn't going to play a TON of minutes, and Z and Ben already don't play a lot of minutes....so therefore you have Big Ben coming off the bench for Shaq, and Varejao coming off the bench for Z, still getting his normal minutes. Big Ben's minutes would go down a little, and Hickson would lose most of his playing time. Big deal.
At least that's how I see it.

locker room chemistry, in addition to money...ben, z, and shaq are all established vets who want to play- take away minutes from any of them, and you have issues- plus, Andy is an up and coming star, or close to it, and Mike Brown is high on him- and Hickson, i cant see trading for another big without moving one of them...

I get that. But why were they so willing to trade Wally for Antawn?
Jamison would, essentially, take up the same, if not MORE minutes than Shaq would at the EXACT SAME POSITION. So....what's the difference?
That's the main thing that I just don't understand....

from what im hearing, jamison is a better locker room guy than shaq might be- although, i agree, if wally is the main focus, give him to phoenix and give me shaq, even if its only for 30 games...

although, with wallys contract coming off the books at the end of this year, i wouldnt mind holding pat and going after someone during free agency...
im also assuming that the cavs feel delonte will be back, and good to go, really soon, or else they wouldnt weaken their backcourt by trading wally- heck, they started tarrence kinsey against the raptors last night- and you arent gonna win a championship with kinsey in your backcourt

Exactly. Regardless of who is a better "locker-room guy", Shaq will be off the books when Bron becomes a free agent, and from what I've heard, him and LeBron are good friends. I think Shaq is the perfect guy we need to be able to beat the Lakers in the Finals.

Delonte should be back for tomorrow's game against Milwaukee. And I think they started Kinsey because they wanted to protect Wally, just in case they do move him. Which could explain why he didn't play a ton of minutes last night.

Lebron was mad when Miami traded shaq to the suns as he wanted the cavs to pursue him. IF they had a chance here and didnt throw i nthe right guy This is only gonna hidner there chances at signing Lebron.
At this time it looks like talks between them are over. Id love t osee Shaq and Lebron team up but it dont look like its happening this season

Keep in mind, that was back when the Cavs team wasn't a legit contender. I'll say it again, not getting Shaq will have no impact on whether LeBron resigns with the Cavs. LeBron is happy with the current team.
