OK you guys have somewhat of a point, card companies DO have the means to come after people who take their products and change them for their own profit!
Guys banners are totally different please don't compare apples and oranges.
Unless its a banner for your company etc I'm sure the sports leagues would not have a problem with them. Stop nickpicking trying to make one point, because you think something is unfair.
Unsure why everyone thinks they should be allowed? Someone else came up with the designs then they paid someone to take the photos and the whole process of creating and marketing said product.
Its up to those companies to decide whether or not to proceed with legal actions. Some may just do something small like going to mike and say tell them to take them down, then thats that!
As for photo's you could not open a online store call it green bay cards and on your header banner use the big G from the packers logo! Hope you can see the difference there.

Guys I am a huge fan of all the customs and hope that you still make them. The thing is show your own creativity and make your own design. I will put out a challenge for those great custom makers that we have to make an original design for all the custom collectors to use. Who is the most creative card designer here? Lets see your own work not copies of the brand names.

hey guys- theres something else to think about- for those who dont know about it, its called public domain. basically, very commonly used trade marks (team names, MLB, NFL, common names and, sometimes, logos) are allowed to be used for certain things without fear of legal action. So, its totally ok to make custom cards featuring graphics of teams and such- AS LONG AS you are not profitting from them. Stuff that is more specific, like card designs, set names, etc, are not covered under public domain because they are specific enough that reproducing them constitutes an attempt to use the specific images or designs to personally benefit. Hope that clears some stuff up...

Ed I could kiss you for that exact statement! (But I won't)
Now that should have cleared up everything. For now.

these rules are bs. Bigga closed his thread and deleted his cards from his bucket

I will second that. Customs are one of the reasons I use this site. I think bigga and the rest of the great custom makers should make his own website. At least for now, I already saved every card that I want to use.

i disagree because yes some of his cards were amazing and very unique but most of the earlier ones he just used a picture of the player and the allen and ginter, and if i was allen and ginter i wouldnt want people doing that to something i basically invented myself
