Actually, I have been there several times, as well as several other places in the middle east, but that is besides the point.
How many times have you been to a Lakers game? Probably never or once. Yet I'm sure you have an opinion on the Lakers, right?

just because someone has been to Iraq does not mean they have more understanding or knowledge into the background of the ordeal over the average person

Ha, I see you didn't answer my first reply....
Since you need help with figuring out the point, I'll spell it out for you.
The Lakers were an example. You can apply the same theory to pretty much anything. I bet you have never been to the White House or in congress, yet I'm sure you have made MANY statements as far as what you believe should be happening there. You are not a politician, yet you discuss politics. Using your logic, the only people allowed to have an opinion on this are people who have been to Iraq for some reason. The fact that someone has not been to Iraq does not automatically disqualify that person's opinion on what should or should not happen there.
