I never buy bottled water. While I'm at school (I'm a teacher) I drink at least a full bottle of water every period, which equals to be about 7 bottles of water every day. However, I haven't had a new water bottle in about 4 months. I just fill it up every period at the water fountain and go off that.

Here's one that I just recently figured out.

Why have a home phone and a cell phone.

I was paying 49.95 a month for home phone and would reccieve nothing but telemarketing phone calls. I also have a cell phone plan that runs about a $100 per month. So I canceled the home phone, added a feature to my cell that allows me more "free" minute options (Verizon: Friends and Family/Alltell: My Circle/Tmobile: Fav 5) and use nothing but my cell phone now.

I've been doing this for about six months now, after my divorce I had to cut corners on everything so the home phone had to go.

    Buying/trading fewer cards
    Eating out less

My family's always been rather frugal, though, so these adjustments weren't that hard.

I don't have much money as it is but to save money i usually.

    go online to compare prices.
reuse things like bubble mailers and cool whip containers for food.
buying things used rather than brand new.
sell things i do not need.
get together with friends when i am hungry, this way the pizza and soda only costs me 6 bucks.
i was also going to get a gym membership but started playing street hockey instead.

Buy store brand food, cleaning supplies, etc - usually they are just as good as the brand name.

Eat home cooked meals - don't eat out.

    Walk/ride bike instead of driving.

Turn off lights/appliances when not in use.

Use fluorescent light bulbs for lights that are on for long periods.

Don't open the fridge/freezer unless you are taking something out - i.e. don't open and stare!

    Don't grocery shop hungry!
