yahoo's 100 movies to see before you die
hey guys-
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/100-...e-you-die.html
curious to hear people's opinions about the movies chosen. Also, if you feel like it, list out how many of the 100 you have seen.
I have seen 70 of the 100. about 15 of those I have seen I should watch again. either watched them while doing something else or only half watched. anyone else?

I've seen 68 on the list. Lots of classics on that list. Majority of those are probably on the AFI top 100films of all-time list.

I don't get the attraction to Blue Velvet...It's always listed as a great/cult classic, but I didn't care for it much at all. Not my kind of thing I guess.
I've seen 53 of those. Some are on my list of stuff to see, but some of them are movies I've heard a lot about, but have just never really appealed to me. Like:
Titanic (1997)
The Sound of Music (1965)
Singin' in the Rain (1952)...I hate musicals, so that should explain these two
Nosferatu (1922)
A Hard Day's Night (1964)
The Exorcist (1973)...not into horror either
Do the Right Thing (1989)
My favorites from the list:
Apocalypse Now (1979)
Blazing Saddles (1974)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Goodfellas (1990)
Groundhog Day (1993)
M*A*S*H (1970)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Rear Window (1954)
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
The Searchers (1956)
Seven Samurai (1954)
Lots of other really good ones...good list altogether. Didn't stick to only the classics, added some new blood, but not too much.

I've seen 36 of the 100...half of them i have no plans to ever see...movies from the 1950's and earlier just don't appeal to me, even the alleged classics
I saw Citizen Kane in film class in high school, and it was incredibly boring. I still have no idea why people swear it's so great.
Tiger Pimp, I'm disappointed...I thought I was the only person left in America that hasn't seen Titanic
I was kind of surprised to see Terminator 2 on the list...I would've picked it myself, but I didn't think a list of movies you must see before you die would include it

I have seen 53. I watched one hour of Titanic and then left the theater. I think it is the most overrated movie of all time.
