Xbox 360 Falcon Chip?
Is the Falcon chip really anything big? Also, is this a good deal for an Elite system? Thinking of picking it up tonight.

I believe the Falcon chip is the first generation chip. These consoles do red ring. I had an Elite that red ringed on me. I wouldn't buy a used 360 system...especially since this could have been a repaired system. You probably won't need the 120GB hard drive unless you plan on saving a lot of music/pictures/videos/demos to your system. The 60gb Pro systems are $300 new and have the newer Jasper chip supposedly. I believe they run cooler and quieter.
I thought you had a 360?

Thanks for the info!

I do, but it is older and without an HDMI hook up. I have a new LCD and want to maximize the capability!

Mike I would wait. As stated this console is still risky with the rings of death. Any larger chips require more cooling. I'd wait till they perfect the shell for more cooling.
Though I have a friend that is getting it. When he does will update this.

No problem. I have a 120gb hard drive and still have 80gb left on it. I've got games downloaded and installed on the drive.
I hate those older models with no HDMI port! Do you already have a hard drive with your current system?
George-supposedly they have fixed the red ring and the newer systems reflect that.

I have only used 10 gigs for mine. Like what was said above, if you only use your 360 for games, then you don't need any memory at all. It's when you start saving other stuff to the hard drive that the memory gets used up more rapidly...

I would just keep the one you have, you can buy the cable to get the HD.
