Most armed robberies end without shots being fired. I think it's safe to say most robbers who walk into a fast food/bank/mini mart etc, at 4 in the afternoon are not thinking "Boy I hope I get to kill someone today". Robbers want the cash and get out, they don't want to draw any more attention to themselves than they have to, and the easiest way to draw attention to themselves is gun fire.

    .

Guns are used to intimidate. A good phrase is "no one respects the badge, but everyone respects the gun". Its true.

YEE-HAW, that sure was a good kill! Some mighty fine gun-work I reckon! I gotta go tell Ma and Pa so we can git our guns n shoot in the air! Heck if somebuddy were to git in the way of the bullets, not my problem!

...Any way, I don't know how I feel about permits to carry a concealed weapon. Seems like it would endanger people more so than help them.

I say Yee Haw. I get a good kill. I've done mighty fine gun-work, I reckon. I dont have to tell Ma and Pa, cuz I do it often so its not a big deal. But I dont shoot my guns in the air, I'm smart about them. I dont have a problem with people gettin in the way of my bullets unless they are threatening my family or friends. What are you getting at? Who does that? I'm just asking.

What if me and you DONT have a concealed gun permit,so neither of us cant/wont carry a gun, but a criminal DOES carry a gun. Then what? Just curious.

WOW!!!! Thats honestly awesome and hilarious!!! Go customer!!! My dad has a license to carry a concealed weapon...pretty sweet!!!

As a gun toten' Texan...All I can say is Swweeet..

Tiger Pimp...regardless of the situation, or whether the person had it coming to them, a human being lost their life over a couple hundred bucks...comments like the ones posted above are repulsive

and before anybody accuses me of being a liberal, i firmly believe in the right to bear arms, and to be able to defend yourself and your property from intruders...while the actions of the customer could be considered commendable, it seems he didn't have to go out of his way to provoke an argument and exchange gunfire with the robber

mikesilvia, you continue to amaze me...not only did you say you would no longer reply to articles you post, you do realize the link you posted about "robbers never kill anyone" goes to a story about a guy who's charged with attempted murder, and didn't kill anybody....you knew that right? because i'm sure you could find 1000 stories about a robber killing somebody...and i'm not saying the story you posted isn't serious...but seriously, get your facts right first

you liberals all need to grow up and face the facts that the robber got what was coming to him. He committed a crime and paid the price for it. This also saves the taxpayers money on a trail and paying for the robber to be in jail. the bad part is now the costumer will have a lawsuit by the robbers family and will end up losing everything in the civil suit. How can you bleeding heart liberals even defend this guy? He brought it on himself. No one forced him to rob the place. Instead of putting the blame on the robber its the shooter fault for not letting the guy get away. Its reasoning like this that keeps the crime rate up. I for one feel the shooter is a hero and hope more people will step up and do the same thing.

I have to agree with that...I always tend to think people don't actually think that way and it's just an ignorant stereotype that anti-gun proponents use, but I guess I ignored the evidence right in front of my face.

Let me say the vast majority of pro-gun people don't act that way. As with everything else, it's a very small minority that give everyone else a bad reputation. I'm very happy the customer did what he did and had the right to do so, but I am in no way happy that it happened. 99.9% of people who do carry hope and pray they never have to pull the trigger, but if the situation arises, they're glad they were able to.

I think this is the mindset that allowed the tragedy at Virginia Tech to happen.

Those kids were lining up to be shot, thinking that was the best solution. When in fact if you have the opportunity to take your attacker down you need to take it.

you really think that it is worth it for him? Did you not read that he was seriously wounded? So if there's a robbery near you and the robber and your dad both shoot each other would you still say pretty sweet?? God for your dad, he might be in the hospital or paralyzed or dead but he sure did show that robber who was trying to steal a few hundred dollars

gotta look out for #1, fire if you think your life is in danger of a lunatic looking to take yours, but in this situation i dont think the customer had to act out and his life would have been safe. now if the robber tried to rob me in addition to burger king......
