Well yeah in a lineup type situation I agree, but I don't believe that is how V-Tech went down.

If you don't have a gun or some other means of self defense, then bringing as little attention to yourself as possible generally is the best approach which is what most of the kids at V-Tech did. The person that creates commotion draws attention and thus is dealt with by the intruder/robber/gunman/etc.

Yup, and the gunman killed 32 people. If someone wouldve stood up and done something, maybe it wouldve been only 4 or 5. But no, no one did anything, and now 32 families are mourning the death of these men and women.

Kids are taught to go along with whatever an armed individual is telling them to do now.

I understand this to a point, but in my training you go along only until an opportunity arises to overwhelm your assailant.

and in the BK scenario, what could have been a simple robbery turned into one fatality and another person escaping death so far

i cant find anything about him lining them up and going one by one down the line...everything i read about virginia tech described a man on a rampage moving from one room to the next just shooting who he can and moving on.

stood up and do what? get shot? people were moving tables and other barriers in front of doors to try and prevent him from getting into their room. what more would you want them to do? throw books at him?
