Obama Admin's new hire: Kumar
Actor Kal Penn joining the Obama administration
Actor and longtime Obama supporter Kal Penn is joining the Obama administration, the White House confirmed to CNN Tuesday.
The actor will be part of the White House Office of Public Liaison, which is run by Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. Penn will be primarily involved in dealing with Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and the arts community.
For those who might not recognize the name, Kal Penn was:

Before you bash him, Penn did a heck of a job as an assistant to Van Wilder. I'd want him on my team, too.

it was sad to see him quit acting and leave his starring role on House, but the guy is very intelligent and well-spoken. He's lectured and taught at University of Pennsylvania and working at Stanford for a graduate cert. in international security

Doesn't he commit suicide on House? Anyway, I struggle to see why people tend to believe actors/actresses can't play a role in politics. He's got an extensive list of qualifications, but the OP would rather post a list of films.
