RANT....Why is it when I ask for a certain card.....
I think I need to bust out Dan's rant banner....
<RANT>
The title would be too long, so here I go...
Why is it when I have a post looking for GU/Autos of a certain player, and I get a response with a member saying they have a card that books for like $20, and when I say "yea, I can use it, CMB, LMK what you need", why do people respond with:
"I like your Favre Auto."
OR
"I like your SPA Longoria Auto/JSY"
OR
"I like your D-Wade Auto/JSY"
.....seriously?
I don't understand why people do this. You have a card that I need that books for $20, and you want something that books in the triple-digits?
Do people really think that I'm that dumb, and are just hoping that maybe I want that $20 card so bad that I'll trade a very nice card for it? Do people really expect to work a trade that way?
And then, when I say "anything lower end, closer to the (insert $20 card here)?", they respond with "well, they sell similar."
Really? No, actually they don't.
I'm sorry for the rant, but this is just rediculous. And it is happening MORE AND MORE AND MORE everyday.

Maybe the member would want to trade something else too or money. But if expecting you to be a moron and trade something high-end for an insert??? Now that's crazy.

I run into that sort of thing sometimes also. I always respond- "Thanks for your time".

Eh, take it in stride. There will always be people out there looking to take advantage of others. Not worth all the emotion to get upset about.
Happy Collecting!

Well, when it happens a few times a day, it really starts to get annoying.

Let me know what you do need for that Longoria, and I won't lowball ya.

A lot of people just like to take advantage of the situation. If they have something you need, then they want to get as much as possible for it. I'd bet most of the people you're referring to won't expect to get one of your high-enders for it, but they just want to see if they have a shot at it.
I've had this happen to me plenty of times - someone has a $2 Vlad I want, and asks for a PC auto.

Jeremy, for the Favre Auto, DWade, & Longo. i'll send you a nice LBJ Base card :)

well, of course you want my opinion, i agree completely, i've actually had this happen alot recently, when i was trying to land some Pistons stuff that if i dont trade, i will be keeping for future card shows i got some of the worse deals i've ever encountered...
I was intrested in cards like Zelko Rebraca GUs, Darko GUs, Will Blalock Autos etc etc
They were only intrested in my David Lee Autos or something of a much better player...now i realize my stuff isnt higher end like yours but comeon, Will Blalock, who at best is in the D-League compared to David Lee who leads the league this year in double doubles..no brainer here!Hidden Content

That is why I stopped putting good cards in my bucket...lol. I can't stand offers like that. Especially when people ask for something that CLEARLY SAYS NFT.

I see where your coming from. I get it every now and then. The one time I got angry was when some guy offered my 4 gu cards for my Josh Hamliton btl auto. I responded " thanks anyway", but it made the guy look like an idiot.
