    New here....quick question

Well, this is my first post on this forum. I've been collecting sports cards since i was about 4 years of age....18 years and counting. I have been out of the collecting thing for the past few years, and will buy packs on rare occasions, nothing like i used to do. Lately, there has been a sudden re-birth for my love of collecting, and i have been itching to buy a nice box of cards. I am getting my tax return back, and am getting paid friday from my job, and want a few opinions.

I wanna spend between $90-150 on a box that guarantees multiple autographs/game used per box. Baseball only. A product that has nice looking base cards (i was always a fan of chrome, spx, die-cut looking base cards, unique looking cards such as fleer metal, cracker jack, old school fleer thunder, ect)

so what are some boxes on the market that would fall into that category that you guys would recommend?

I always liked 08 SPx. And you get a guaranteed hit per pack.

    Well...

08 SPx runs around 120. Mix of GU an Autos. This is nice because you get a hit in every pack. Some are basic GU, but most all of those are numbered. And you may also guarantee a patch per box. Not sure on that. There are some Autos in there as well. Some of the big hits are very nice. Personally, I think these base are nice.

07 Bowman's Best runs around 150. This has some nice autos. Not sure about the GU stuff. So, it would depend on what you are looking for. But this seems to have nicer autos. The base is okay. Thick card stock, but from what I have seen, people get a lot of dupes per box.

The 09 SPx is nice too, but haven't broke any yet. And from the sounds of it, less hits per box. I kind of like the cards out of here though. Not sure the pricing on this. Maybe 120-130?

08 UD Ballpark runs around 150-160. I liked these, but there are lots of Red Sox in here, and that is what I collect. Nothing numbered though for the GU. Some of the button cards are numbered though. Some decent Autos.

But, there are a lot out there and some may have different opinions. So, take this with a grain of salt. Just my humble opionion. And it would also depend on who you collect and what teams you collect. More hits for some teams in different products.

Are you looking for a specific year? Do you want a single box for your $90-$150, or do you want multiple boxes that add up to that?

i'm lookin for something between 07' and now...since i collected heavily up until 07'

and i'm looking to spend up to $150 on a single box that is guaranteed to have multiple hits in it. i did some research and the 08' SPX looks like a really nice box to get, so i may go with that

Yeah, its hard to go wrong with SPX. Another product that I really liked that is just around your price point is 2008 Topps Stadium Club Baseball. That has a ton of guaranteed autos into and I had a great time breaking it.

Yeah, I forgot about the Stadium Club. Those are nice. I think 1 Auto per pack. I think they are in the 160-170 range, so I had not mentioned them as I was trying to stay under 150. But, yeah, those are nice. And some pretty nice Rookie Autos in there too.
