You know..
You know it's ODD..I was thinking the same thing. I mean..he's ON FIRE in the Playoffs this year. Carrying the Heat in almost every game. Yet..Beckett REFUSES to up his card values. Just about ALL of his Rookie autos are selling if not AT..then OVER Hi BV right now.
The next month or so, should show some movement in his cards because most of his autos are in HIGH demand right now..
Only time will tell though...

yeah I am hoping they all go back up. The man has been at the top of his game lately. He definetly has gotten over the injury from last year.

this is a clear reason of why you shouldnt use beckett, they are not accurate at all on updating prices, you should see them updating there prices in July probably, and then his sell value will be back down to where it usually is, which they will quickly lower his prices

Correct sir, i do use my bosses OPG, but i use it to help out others who do use it or if i'm curious on how something is selling on ebay compared to becketts pricing
and actually i dont use ebay either, because its not accurate of the cards true sale value, something that sells for $3 on ebay, if its a local item i could sell it for $6, or lets say the Rodney Stuckey Auto on my tradelist, on Ebay it averages $10-12, at a show in Michigan i can get $20-$25 for it
what i use is personal value, no its not the i want 100 in trade because i like this card alot, each card we all own has a certain personal value to us, if i have a jersey card, and theres another jersey card i want, i dont care on the value, i will make the trade because the card i want has more personal value to me than the one i currently have
if that makes sense..lol

Beckett used to acknowledge that regional stars and semi-stars demanded a premium. Did they take that out?
Off-topic:
I think Beckett's prices on vintage cards are pretty close. I have given them a pass on keeping up with the 90's cards just because of the over-production of that decade. The newer release cards are somewhat volatile so maybe they use a formula that includes how long the card sells for a premium before publishing a new price. It's black magic.
Back on topic:
D-Wade's values have to go up in the next price guide. He's shown a sustained improvement in play this year. The MVP talk helped his case as well.

Actually, yes it makes ALOT of sense!! I mean..isn't that how the hobby STARTED out?? Back in the 40's-50's- &60's when kids were trading cards..there was NO BECKETT!! Seems to have worked for them..lol.
It's a good system you got..I mean..if it works for you...THERE ya go..lol

That is SO true. I think it's not so much the MASS production..which it is though partially, but, there was just a LACK of interest in the players altogether..that is until MJ started winning Championships. There was always a fanbase..but, not like todays. Now TODAY though..you talk about MASS produce and flooding the market. When a Kobe Jsy card can be only $10 BV...there's WAY too many Kobe jsy cards out there.
You actually, begin to wonder..for example:
Topps Treasury Kobe Jsy Relic card..say there was about 10,000 produced.. that's JUST Treasury..if you put ALL of the other Kobe Jsy cards on the table.. this guy would have to change his jsy about 10X a quarter to keep up with the demand of 'AUTHENTIC GAME USED JSY' cards..hmmmm makes you wonder..lol. Not to mention PATCH cards..I mean you can only get SO many pieces of patches off of a jsy.
Well..let's hope Beckett starts watching the market more and stops flipping coins to decide values of cards.
