It's definitely a lack of courtesy if you are still contacting them and they refuse to respond. If someone has been looking for stuff for me, I at least take the time to let them know if I need the cards or not.

People can be really inconsiderate.
That's why it's much better to post your trade list on a site, so it's available for others to view. I just posted up my wantlist, I need to put my tradelist up there next.

I know how you feel. I've been dealing with this one person here (I will not name him or her). He or she wanted any football cards of a specific team (even cards that were overproduced, you know which ones they are). I spent a few hours gathering the cards and responded to his post. No response...even though that person has been on everyday. So I pmed him. No response. Finally he responds and ask a few questions like how many, brands, etc. I replied by pm. No response to the pms. Finally I posted on his thread all the pertinent info he wanted. No response...until I posted again saying that he wasted my time pulling the cards and now I have to waste more time returning them to their respective boxes. He replies, saying that he did not waste my time and that he did buy cards of his team. He proceeds to tell me to get my info straight.
My reply....it's fine and dandy that you bought cards of your team BUT did you buy it from me? If he had bought my cards, then my time is not wasted. And I am not the only one who wasted his time pulling cards for this person.

Can the mods do anything about this?

We can't make anyone respond to people. If you have a bad experience with someone (if they aren't breaking the rules, like this) we recommend just not dealing with them or putting them on ignore. That usually solves the problem for that person.

This is one of the golden rules of trading, always respond in a timely manner.

yeah, its happened to me so man times, im just tired of pulling cards for people that they say they want...its almost like they are trying to be a tool and make me dig through 400,000 cards....(since they all know i have 400,000 cards, because i tell them before i start digging, i ask them before i dig through 400,000 cards, are you sure you want these cards..they always respond yes, then i never hear from them again. they seem to just drop off the end of the earth(but still post here on scf!)

99% of the time it's due to poor communicatuion. If the potential buyer tells you exactly what he/she is looking for specifically you know what to pull. But most of the time the potential buyer does not do this.
