That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that she should not immediately think of sueing. She should try to get help first and then worry about it later. She even takes more time to call him back just asking for his name.

well, part of the reason she asked for his name was to report him, which she should and he should be fired on the spot, the girl obviously was scared and someone answering 911 calls should be able to understand that, not start a fight with her and hang up the phone..

first of all, just so I don't get crucified, I think the 911 operator should be suspended at a minimum. He was competely out of line and hanging up, much less doing so multiple times, is way out of line.

However, there were a few things in the story that I would questions. We have access to every tape (3 911 calls, the 911 to fire call, the 911 to police call) but they chose to not play the first tape which is the one that got her so mad she was cussing when she called back.
Secondly, the sue comment was dumb at the time, but when she runs down to the police station, it even says she ran to get help and to file a complaint. Im sorry, if she was really worried about her fathers life, she would not have worried about filing a complaint while her dad was in need of emergency assistance.

I'm kind of disappointed in the girl as well in a sense. The first thing she think of is suing the guy. She does not try to get other help or try to mediate the situation, but she even calls back threatening to sue. If anything happens to anyone nowadays they threaten to sue. I'm not saying that the police officer was correct in his actions because he was severely wrong, but the girls imediate reaction to the situation was "I'm going to sue." This, in my opinion, shows the thought process of a lot of society: "Wrong me in any way whatsoever and I will sue you, even if it is not my fault."

I am glad someone else shares my viewpoint on the situation. This girl actually called back on the 911 line TWICE to threaten to sue him and get his name. While I understand her frustration, this is definitely an abuse of 911. In that aspect she deserves that charge. All that aside, he does deserve to be punished severely as well.

IMO they are both in the wrong. The operator shouldn't have hung up on her. However if not swearing is what it will take to get an ambulance...then don't swear. If her father died it would have been her fault. When someones life is on the line put your pride and ego aside and do what's best for the person.

sorry but i completely disagree. if your father was having a seizure, you would be freaked out too. i would be cussing up a storm. You can't fault her for swearing when she's in a panic. the operator shouldve been fired IMO

Not so. What they are talking about is the swearing as an abuse of 911. What I am talking about is calling an EMERGENCY line to threaten to sue someone who has offended you.
