Ranking the NBA playoff announcing teams

We've done this before, and though players can change and grow or slow from year to year, announcers generally tend to stay the same. There are many exceptions, all sorts of local color and play by play guys get better as the years move along, but we're done with those cats for now. It's the playoffs, the rotation is set at seven, and here is one mug's list of favorites.

I absolutely hate Jeff Van Gundy, as he thinks he's funny, but is NOT. I liked Breen and Jackson, as Jackson describes the game with perspective of a point guard.

My favorite has to be Hubie Brown and Mike Tirico. Brown provides a great insight into the game, and I'm always fascinated by how Hubie can predict what happens next. Tirico is a pretty good play-by-play commentator as well.

EDIT: Must have missed the link, but I agree with the blogger with the first choice :)

Couldn't agree more. Van Gundy is a clown. He always goes off on tangents that have NOTHING to do with basketball.

My first choice hands down is Mike Tirico and Hubie Brown!
Hubie really is/has been my favorite for a long time.

Second choice would be Marv Albert and Reggie Miller.

It's tuff since they all do a pretty good job...
I love Kevin Harlan's as well but Doug Collins' whining, blindness, and favoritism get annoying really fast.
Equally annoying is Van Gundy and Marc Jackson's constant arguing.

I like Mark Jackson and Van Gundy as well. I mean they keep me interested in the game if the lakers aren't the ones playing lol.
