Hello,
I write to you as possibly the only Brian Boyle collector around and I was wondering something. Were his Ultimate Debut Threads Jersey Auto /35 and Patch Auto /10 pulled? You have them listed on your site but I check eBay every day and multiple card sites and have not seen one. I am 99% sure it was pulled but I would love for it to be confirmed. The reason I feel it was pulled from production was due to Brian not signing cards. I currently have an outstanding redemption for a Brian Boyle Ice Patch Auto /10 and it is his first redemption to date and he still has not been in to sign it, despite both of you guys being in LA. Before that, all his autos were live in product with no problems that I was aware of. I would like to know if these cards were pulled from the product and not going to be produced so I can take them off my wanted list if they are. Any help would be much appriceated. Thanks
Sincerely,
Andy
Basically, you all know im the diehard boyle collector here. to date i haven't seen a single boyle patch or jersey auto from ultimate despite looking every day. will update this when I get a reply from them.

I emailed them about a redemption gone awry, and they answered and took care of it. not sure about your request.

Remember that we're talking about cards /35 and /10, respectively. They're very rare and will be tough to come across -- not the type of card that will show up on a daily basis, even though Ultimate is the hot secondary market item du jour. Sure, some guys have had multiple items appear already with the same print run, but it's the luck of the draw and the way the cards fall. And for all we know, 5-6 of each may have already been pulled and not made their way to the Bay yet.
Keep checking, and make sure to look through the completed listings as well - you never know what will finish in very short order because the first person that sees it buys it.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

yeah but the thing is rich is that i check ebay EVERY day and check here. his issues with signing cards leads me to believe that UD knew he wouldnt sign and just pulled it. cause if these cards do exist and are actually signed, then why didnt he sign the 10 ice patch autos? im very sure these cards arent being made

Then why bother UD about it? If you are looking and havent seen even one by this time, its clearly not made. As for the ice patch, they may have been sent separately and could be a totally different issue.

I want to know for sure. The thing is, Boyle was in LA at the end of the season and UD is in LA. Is it really that hard to get him to come in and sign a few cards?

It really shouldn't be, but based on Upper Deck's track record with redemptions, it shouldn't be considered surprising.

Um, it doesn't matter where the players are. I understand this is your favorite player and that's why you're reacting this way. But here's the deal...
Every player is treated the same way. They send the cards out, and wait for them to come back. They can't drive everywhere to pick up the cards. When they have Rookie signings, players can choose to participate. Some guys may not be worried about the extra money they get for signing the cards, and don't want to be involved in the effort. Some are lazy, some during the season just want to put all their effort into the games.
Plus, Sea Otter Place is in Carlsbad, outside San Diego. The Kings are an hour and a half out of the way. Why pay someone to drive that far to pick up cards for (I apologize in advance) for a slightly above average prospect. For Ovechkin, yeah, they probably put someone on a plane for Washington, but even then Im guessing thats a last resort.

This isn't UD. This is the player. UD didn't put our redemptions, the cards simply aren't in the packs. My guess is the kid just didn't feel like signing them.
