Yeah I think I'm getting mine out this summer but I thought they usually put you to sleep when they remove them.

everyone i know who had their wisdom teeth removed were by the same method as mine. I thought only bigger operations required putting the person to sleep.

I only had 3 somehow but when I got them out I guess I got lucky and it wasn't bad at all. The bleeding basically stopped by the time I left the office and I wasn't really in much pain or anything after the fact

I guess it all depends on the expertise of the dentist? Sigh..I think I need to change to a different one.

okay and they just numbed your mouth? I think I might tell them to do it that way.

yup, they inject anesthesia inside your mouth with a needle (not a good feeling btw), and after 4-5 mins, you will feel completely numb. I'm not trying to scare you..it's not THAT bad, but if you're getting all four taken out at once, then the next week or so will be pretty tough. The worst part isn't even the pain imo. I can withstand the pain just fine, but it's the feeling of stitches inside your mouth..it's a really bad feeling.

They put me out for mine but I think it was because the teeth weren't exposed and they had to cut through the gums and such to get to them. It sounded painful but fortunately wasn't

a couple years ago when i got the left two out taken out, they were not exposed, and they had to cut through the gums, and they used the same method (anesthesia). When I got my right teeth taken out today, they were completely exposed.

Mine were removed, all four at once, about 2 years ago. I felt terrible in the chair, I even asked for a break between upper/lower wisdom teeth. I guess the teeth were in there pretty deep. I remember the guy's gloves were covered in blood. I was glad to get out of there.

It didn't bleed when I got home though, but I remember it hurt pretty bad the first few days. Couldn't eat a lot of the foods I usually do for some time. Had to keep gauze in there to make sure I didn't bite the stitches off or something (they were self-dissolving). After a month and a half or so I was back to normal.

and didn't touch the vicodin they gave me.

Why in the name of all that is good and holy not?!?!

lol no...they only put some anesthesia inside my mouth (on the right side where the wisdom teeth are)..so you feel really numb and don't feel much pain. But trust me..I was wide awake and I still felt pain.

That probably made it a lot worse. They put me under and I was feeling no pain all the way home and then started on the percocet...no chance for pain!
