The Official Chat Thread Of The 2009 Cincinnati Reds

Didnt see one of these posted yet so I figured I would post one for us Reds fans to post in. Everything goes here, chat about whatever is on your mind concerning the Reds. I labeled it as a 2009 Cincinnati Red chat but if you want to talk past or future Reds stuff thats cool too.

    I'll start it off:

    1. Is Joey Votto right now in the lead for the batting title ?

    2. Does Jay Bruce and Joey Votto remind anyone in the slightest of another Reds batting duo by the name of Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns ?

    1. I believe Votto is the leader right now for the batting title, he is in the top 5 of almost every batting category and that is even with missing 6 or 7 games due to the inner ear infection he is still getting over.

    2. I remember when Austin Kearns was the absolute talk of the town and then came up and didnt have near the impact as everyone expected. I believe Votto has more or less came out of nowhere in the last two seasons (although I remember watching him when he was with the Class A Dayton Dragons and thinking he was going to be something special). I think RIGHT NOW and I may take some heat for this that Dunn and Bruce are a wash, meaning I think as of right now they are having similar careers even though Bruce has only been here not even a full season yet. I believe in the long run that Bruce will be a 100% better fielder than Dunn and maybe not as many home runs per season and thats a big maybe but I dont think Bruce will strike out near as much as Dunn and have a way better OBP.

Ok time to flame me , agree with me , whatever ... Make your own topics..... etc, etc, etc...

So for a batting title is it only average they look at ? Seriously I'm not sure.

Votto and Bruce are better than Kearns and Dunn... Both can play defense. Kearns can too, but Dunn can't. Dunn can mash, and Kearns can't hit his way out of a wet paper bag.

    I hear ya.

Agreed, did you see the bonehead play Dunn made last night ? Ball went over his head barely and then when he picked it up he tried to throw it in and threw it straight in to the ground about 5 feet in front of him.
