    Need Advice

I just got a steal (I believe) from Ebay... Wanting some advice on what value I should put on it.

I purchased an 07-08 Hot Prospects White Hot Joe Thornton Patch \10. It says not priced due to scarcity. Its a plain white patch, but it is numbered to 10. What should I ask for it?

It's likely worth roughly what you paid for it.

Once in a while you'll get a "steal" on eBay..... but the truth is, most die hard collectors check eBay pretty regularly. If there was anyone out there who was willing to pay more than you did..... they likely would have done so already.

Looking around, I did see an auction ended recently for a Thornton Auto / Patch that was number /10 (from Ultimate). It sold for $38. I guess I'd expect that you should be able to get in the $40 range (maybe $50?) if you were selling it, and probably between $75 and $100 BV in a trade.

What the patch looks like will also change that.

    Hope that helps.

Well the thing is, The reason it wasn't taken by someone else, is because the seller had it under a weird category that had nothing to do with hockey cards, and he had the name spelt wrong... "Thorton" so I had a few of my co-workers to go on and try and find it using several different searches, and they couldn't find it... The Patch is white.

Well, after knowing about the mispelling, I change my mind :) You got a great deal. (I was able to find it in completed listings).

If you were to re-list the card properly, I would expect you'd be able to tripple your money pretty easy. It's not an auto, but it is pretty limited. I would bet anywhere from 3 to 5 times what you paid, would be a final auction.

Trade value? I'd stand by my $75 - $100 BV in trade comment from before.

Congrats on the nice find / deal though.
